Poignant Logging has been a family owned and operated business since day one back in 1991. Based out of Lacon, Illinois along the Illinois River, we are a logging company who exports high-quality veneer and saw logs all around the world. We specialize in sustainable harvest management on privately held farms and standing timber. LeRoy Poignant and his son, Grant, have created a reputation and culture that represent what makes Poignant Logging one of the most recognized logging operations in the Midwest.
OUR HISTORY
In 1991, LeRoy founded Poignant Logging. Now, more than three decades later, that legacy continues as his son, Grant, takes over the family business. Grant started working with his dad in early 2001, then on a full time basis in 2016, and took over the reins in January 2023.
In January 2023, When Grant took over, LeRoy established Poignant Enterprises and expanded the business into a full service logging and trucking company, adding six trucks to the fleet that exclusively transport logs for Poignant Logging.
